We recently sat down with Owner, Febby Efendy, RN MSC, to discuss senior care options at Heidi’s Haven, how the best assisted living facility in Lake County got started, and what makes the retirement home unique.
What is the story behind Heidi’s Haven?
Heidi’s Haven opened in 1997 when our long time dream came about to redefine “home care.” We decided to open up a private home care facility. We wanted residents to be lovingly cared for, but above all, to wake up each morning happy.
It did not take very long before our first home in Lady Lake, Florida was completely full. We decided to buy a second home in Leesburg, Florida.
Once again, the second home was completely filled. There was such a strong need for a third home, and we decided to open another home care facility, our third, in Leesburg, Florida. You guessed it. In no time, the third home was filled up, and we purchased our fourth home in Fruitland Park, Florida.
We feel so very blessed that we and our amazing staff members, who truly have a loving heart, have the privilege to cater and serve our residents with much love and many hugs and smooches.
How many facilities make up Heidi’s Haven Assisted Living Facilities, and where are they located?
We have five total facilities. One in Lady Lake, one in Fruitland Park, two in Leesburg, and our newest one in Belleview, Florida. We serve senior residents across Lake County including The Villages.
What’s the difference between an assisted living facility and a nursing home?
Assisted Living Homes cater to seniors who can no longer live on their own, but who do not need 24 hour nursing or complex medical supervision — just friendly assistance with their activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, getting around, and medication assistance.
Do you have nurses on staff 24/7?
Most or our staff members are well trained and experienced CNAs. The owner is a registered nurse and one of our administrators is a nurse as well.
